First varmint rifle match of the season

The Almosta Blog Posted on May 12, 2013 by MyriamApril 10, 2014 2

Yesterday, we had our first Varmint Riflle Match of 2013. Gary started this discipline at the shooting club last year and people really got interested in it. We even have several long range shooters participating in our matches!

North Dakota being true to itself threw us some cold weather and some wind as well, to make the whole thing interesting. Below is a view of where we shoot from: Continue reading →

Card split

The Almosta Blog Posted on May 2, 2013 by GarySeptember 13, 2018

I fixed Myriam’s DPMS and she wanted to try it out for accuracy. Here’s what she did:

72 yards, cards edge on, 3 shots only, 10x scope.

Completed move to WordPress

The Almosta Blog Posted on May 2, 2013 by MyriamSeptember 13, 2018

Well, things went smoother than I expected so the blog is back up and running again, this time with WordPress as the main engine!

Things are pretty straightfoward under the new setup. I was able to transfer all the content, including the comments, but unfortunately I couldn’t transfer the ratings on the entries. Oh well, Simple PHP Blog is a world and a half away from WordPress so it was to be expected that something would be lost.

There are still a few things that need to be set up, but most of the work is done. Time for a little break from the computer though, I’ve been at this for two days straight.

Moving to WordPress

The Almosta Blog Posted on May 1, 2013 by MyriamSeptember 13, 2018

Well, I started the process. I’m transferring this blog to WordPress. The change should be completed in a day or so. Finally!

What got me going is that I want to post about some things but don’t want to go through the pains of using this blog software. I’ve been using Simple PHP Blog for years. It did its job well and was ok for when I didn’t know any better. WordPress is way easier to use and is being maintained and updated, unlike Simple PHP Blog which has been abandonned years ago.

So keep your eyes open, a new look is coming! Well, it’ll kinda be the same but it’ll be different, if that makes any sense

Time flies

The Almosta Blog Posted on January 28, 2013 by MyriamSeptember 13, 2018

It’s been a looooooong time since I posted anything here. I’ve been so busy that I had even forgotten about this blog! Not good. Not good at all

Anyways, just a quick note to say we’re both doing fine and that as time allows (yeah, right), I’ll be updating more on here. At least, that’s the plan. We’ll see how it goes.

I recently redid a website and used WordPress for it. I just love WordPress! It’s so darn easy to set up and use! Way better than this one. Has more options too. So I’ll probably change this blog over to WordPress. Don’t hold you breathe though, it might take a while!
